Hello friend

My First Makeover

For my thirteenth birthday Moma took me to Merle Norman for my First Makeover.

I personally didn't see anything wrong with the way that I looked.

Anyway, not knowing what to expect, this pretty, smiling, lady in a Black Coat with Merle Norman on her jacket walked over to us and introduced herself as Helena.  She wished me Happy Birthday and handed me a little bar of soap (Merle Norman soap of course) Helena asked me to sit at the table and she begin asking me questions on how did I clean my face, did I wear any makeup, what skin type did I have?  I was thinking that it really wasn't any of her business, but since Moma was standing there beside me, I said "with a washcloth and soap, and then I used rubbing alcohol all over to keep my nose from being so shiny and getting any pimples".  Well, let me tell you this was the WRONG answer.  I could tell by her expressions!

She pulled out this little chart and a piece of paper and she began explaining why and how you should wash your face.  She asked me if she could demonstrate it to me and of course I said "yes mam".  After cleansing (new word) and toning (another new word) she applied a PINK MASK (new experience) to my face.  It tightened up like she had poured cement on my face.  Helena explained it was tightning pores and pulling out blackheads (that I didn't know I had).  I have to admit, IT FELT GOOD!  She removed the Pink Mask with a warm cloth.

Long story short - this was the beginning of a long lifetime dream - to work in a Merle Norman store and show others how to take care of their skin.  Many years later (38) to be exact, I opened my first Merle Norman Store and a year later opened another one.

I still use Merle Norman products, I truly believe they are the best on the market.

My morning ritual:
CLEANSE
TONE
TREATMENT - Changing Skin - I believe this product is the BEST treatment I have ever used.  It balances out my skin tone, has a cooling agent and helps with fine lines.
TINTED MOISTURIZER
MINERAL POWDER
